Our Story
Health Advocacy Mutual Inclusivity
Our journey began in 2019, driven by our collective concern for the disparity and the lack of mental health awareness and the opioid overdose crisis in our community. Devastated by these challenges, we— a group of friends—decided to take action. This is our story of ambition, which in Somali, translates to “Hami”.
Why We’re Here
At H.A.M.I., we believe in addressing the multifaceted needs of individuals and families. Through education, support, and resources, we empower our community members to make informed decisions about their health and well-being. We are creating change, and it starts with ambition—the ambition to want different for our community, to heal, grow, and make healthier choices.
